Taekwondo is a martial art of self defense that originated in Korea. It is recognized as one of the oldest forms of martial arts in the world, reaching back over 2,000 years. Taekwondo focuses primarily on kicking techniques and practical ways to defend yourself in real life situations.
Today, over 70 million people in 188 countries practice Taekwondo. 4 million of them are black belters. The values that students of Taekwondo learned are not just applied in the sport. The principles of Taekwondo are characteristics that students must incorporate in their daily lives as well.
At Champs Academy we teach Taekwondo in the most practical aspect. Before teaching any fancy techniques we want the basics to be perfect from every little detail. Along with advanced kicking techniques we also teach our students some Boxing, Hapkido, and Jiu Jitsu in our program to ensure our students can handle themselves in self defence situations. We also focus on bodyweight strength training and building up our students stamina.
